Cabling and Bracing

29/12/2015

As a tree matures, structural defects, poorly attached unions, splits or decayed limbs can develop. Artificial support mechanisms, such as cables or braces, can minimize these hazardous conditions and preserve the tree.
In most situations, The Tree Specialists uses a unique cabling system called Cobra Cable. Cobra cable is made of a synthetic fiber that stretches to allow the tree to flex naturally and doesn’t require drilling holes into the tree like traditional steel cable systems. They are self-adjusting systems that will not girdle your tree and are designed to grow with your tree.
Each year, we send out a reminder to our Cabling clients that an inspection should be done on an annual basis as trees continue to change throughout their lifetime.
